Military Families

Woodmen Hills Elementary School is dedicated to helping military parents, whether they are active duty or in the National Guard and Reserves, feel confident that their student is gaining the educational skills necessary to be college, workforce, and life ready. With over 20% of our students coming from military families, we deeply understand the unique transitions, challenges, and resilience that shape their experiences—and we are committed to supporting them every step of the way. We offer comprehensive social-emotional supports, targeted academic interventions, and extracurricular opportunities designed to foster belonging, growth, and a sense of community.

Follow #fallinlovewithfalcon for current events and happenings, and please reach out to WHES military liaison Camille Reagan with any questions you may have.

On Thursday, Dec. 4, 2025, the District 49 Board of Education publicly showed it's support for military-connected students and families by unanimously passing a Purple Star resolution

Role of the School Military Liaison

Our school counselor, Camille Reagan is our designated School Military Liaison (SML) who supports military-connected families as they transition into our building. As our SML, Mrs. Reagan assists families throughout the enrollment process, helps students adjust to their new school environment, connects them with local resources, and supports them in times of transition, deployments, and other life events unique to military life. Mrs. Reagan works in close partnership with our MFLC, the District Military Student & Family Liaison, and military liaisons from surrounding bases to ensure a seamless and supportive experience for every military-connected student.
