Cheryl Curry
I am honored to serve as WHES’ Dean of Students. I value partnering with students, parents, teachers, and staff members to help all students focus on academics, while gaining confidence in themselves and their abilities.
My goal, as a Dean, is to maintain an environment that is safe and respectful -- so that our students can focus on achieving academic excellence. I'm passionate about helping children develop a range of social and emotional skills, which are necessary for them to function well in the classroom, in the community, and in college and careers. I also promote Student Leadership programs to help students practice and use these skills while they're attending Woodmen Hills.
Since 2005, I have proudly worked as an educator in Falcon School District 49, where I served students' needs as a School Counselor before moving into an administrative role. During my first career, I was a professional writer and editor at a daily newspaper in the Midwest. I also worked for several years at a residential treatment center, where I helped at-risk children conquer social and emotional challenges.
The elementary school years are crucial. What happens during these years builds a lasting foundation for each child’s growth and development. I look forward to ensuring that Woodmen Hills continues to be a place where students learn and grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
